50+ Italian regions

A week across Halifax
The problem
Food and wine festivals often collapse into the same visual language: a wooden board, a top-down plate, a script font. Gusto needed to feel like a hospitality experience rather than an event listing — something that could carry appetite, atmosphere and curation across a full week of programming.
The thinking
Build the brand around the full shape of the festival, not just the tasting room. Point the camera at the people, the venue energy and the local relationships — chefs, sommeliers, restaurant partners, importers, producers and guests. Richmond Yards on Almon Street became the modern Halifax backdrop for the signature experiences, including A Passport to Italy and the Grand Italian Wine & Food Tastings.
The result
A campaign system that ran across social, out-of-home and motion for the full 2026 festival cycle without repeating itself. The Grand Tasting alone poured 50+ Italian wines — including exclusives only available at Gusto — with Italian-inspired small bites in The Richmond Yards' new private event space. What this work holds onto
Appetite, atmosphere, curation
The festival format is built on three things: the appetite of the audience, the atmosphere of the venue, and the curatorial instinct behind every pairing and collaboration.
Local relationships as the stage
Chefs, sommeliers, restaurants, sponsors, importers and producers are not supporting cast — they are the reason the festival feels specific to Halifax rather than imported from anywhere else.
Built to be shared in real time
A kit of layouts, crops, type sizes and motion moments that a small team can post daily across a week of events without the system collapsing into sameness.
Let the venue energy and people lead.
Don't reduce the festival to a flat plate of charcuterie.
Treat wine and food as storytelling.
Don't make it look like a generic event listing.
